About Fanfare
Fanfare has been a family-owned business since 1982. Ken and Barb Abbott established the store soon after the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid. The store became one of the village’s top souvenir shops, and after 19 years, Barb and Ken retired in 2001. Steve Abbott, Ken and Barb's oldest child, with his wife, Brenda, took over the business and continued to manage the store for 7 years. In 2008, Lori Abbott Staats, Ken and Barb's youngest child, with her husband, James, bought the business and continues to run the business today. Over the years, Fanfare remains a necessary stop for anyone shopping in Lake Placid. As a family, we continue to work together and work towards providing our customers with original items at affordable prices.
